Critical tools and parts would often go missing for days after their delivery before they make it to their intended recipient.

To address this issue, Hilti partnered with UPS and BoxLock to develop a unique jobsite delivery program known as Unattended Delivery (UAD). The solution relies on BoxLock's Supply Chain Access Control Platform and Hilti's direct to customer strategy to provide secure, organized, and efficient deliveries to each subcontractor at a job site.

Challenge

Jobsites can be complex environments, with multiple contractors and subcontractors operating concurrently. Each of these parties receives packages, which often end up commingled in a single location, leading to logistical difficulties and potential delays in operations. Locating the right packages on a large jobsite can be a challenging task, and critical tools and parts can often go missing for days after they've been delivered. The UAD program was designed to streamline this process by delivering packages to each subcontractor at a job to a container specific for that Hilti customer. Each container is secured with a BoxLock device, providing customers with full visibility into the packages coming to their location, regardless of where they may be shipped from. This solution also provides the confidence of knowing that UPS packages were securely delivered to the container.

The Solution

By delivering packages directly to subcontractor-specific containers secured with BoxLock devices, this innovative solution effectively resolves the logistical issues associated with commingled deliveries on jobsites.
